The Fredrikstad Multiconsult Marathon is run in 3 identical laps of 14 km, with the remaining 195 meters run first, so that the kilometer markers on all 3 laps are in the same place. The first half of the course is on asphalt, while the rest is on gravel and forest roads in Fredrikstadmarka. The course has been the same since the start of the Fredrikstad Marathon in 2001, and both the start and finish are at the FIF house on Ilaveien 132 in Fredrikstad. The course turns after heading south towards the city and follows the pedestrian and bicycle path past Østfoldhallen before veering into the forest.
